Medical Acupuncture

Medical Acupuncture (dry needling) is an adaptation of the Chinese method and involves the insertion of fine sterile needles into the soft tissues of the body in order to stimulate the nervous system and to treat musculoskeletal pain. It works by stimulating the brain and nervous system to produce natural pain relieving chemicals (including endorphins), which help promote the body’s natural healing process to heal itself and gain pain relief.

Medical acupuncture can be used in the treatment of painful musculoskeletal probleBack Acums such as back, shoulder, neck and leg pain, acute/chronic injuries, sports injuries and headaches.

Most recent success, I have used this as part of a wider treatment plan for clients suffering with Calf strain/Achilles pain and also with a client suffering from Lower Back and Gluteus muscle tightness.

Medical Acupuncture is now being used in mainstream medicine by GPs, physiotherapists and in the NHS. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends considering acupuncture as a treatment option for chronic lower back pain, chronic tension-type headaches and migraines.
